The Edworthy Media Team has recently welcomed its newest member, Louise.
Edworthy Media began as Edworthy Computing back in 2005 it was a dream of Paul Edworthy, following in the footsteps of his father and Grandfather of running his own business. Paul grew up in the village of Bow near Crediton in Devon with his parents Philip and Bridget Edworthy and his sister Suzie, where he attended primary school and then went on to school at Queen Elizabeths in the Town of Crediton.
Having worked for his father Philip in the family haulage business RWT Edworthy & Sons in the school holidays from the age of 13 Paul started full time employment with them in 1996 at the age of 16. RWT Edworthy & Sons was started by his Grandad Tom back in the 1950's. Paul started by delivering Coal, loading trailers with a forklift helping with the family concrete business and qualified as a Heavy Goods Vehicle mechanic at Exeter College. Paul was fascinated with diagnosing faults and fixing them. Paul went on to pass his Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Class 2 using the young drivers scheme at aged 19. After a couple years of driving lorries delivering building supplies Paul bought a second hand Computer from a local IT guy from his local town.
Paul's interest in IT grew and in 2000 Paul got a job as a sales administrator for a local Car Dealership Evans Halshaw. Paul would be booking vehicles into stock and dealing with accountancy queries on computers whilst helping other members of staff with their IT issues. Paul started to believe he had the requirements to start a career in the IT industry.
In 2001 Paul saw an advert for a global telecommunications company, they were looking for IT analysts to support their software platforms across the world and Paul saw this as a great opportunity to develop his career. Paul passed the entry exam and after 2 weeks of training was welcomed to the service desk based at Sowton in Exeter. Paul's role within the organisation was to talk engineers through fixing issues remotely on their laptops and other computer systems, and if the issue could not be resolved remotely he would log faults for IT engineers to attend. After receiving additional software and web development Paul was promoted to the Integrated service desk where he helped support the 150 and 151 call centres IT systems as well as Directory enquiries and emergency assistance. Paul would also spend additional time updating the Intranet (internal website) with fixes and guidelines for the various departments within the organisation. Paul was part of a great team and was the go to for any of the more complex Microsoft issues users were facing. He was present when the company introduced remote support where they could login to users PCs remotely.
After gaining an invaluable amount of experience and knowledge around Software, marketing, networks and telephony, Paul left there in 2002 to pursue a career working for a local IT firm where he was the person to go out and install office networks, setup broadband and fix IT issues onsite. This developed Paul's knowledge on hardware and having the ability to build PCs and know what Hardware works with what. This included replacing parts, installing software, server administration amongst other things.
Paul was approached by other business asking for him to support their IT and felt it was time to start his own business. In 2005 he took the leap of faith and started Edworthy Computing. In 2008 they became a limited company. In 2009-2010 Paul was finding people calling him at every hour was taking its toll and started questioning whether he should continue with IT as the fast developing industry was making it difficult to keep up with. Although Paul had the IT and marketing skills, he found himself craving for better management skills.
In 2010 Paul decided he would sign up for a business studies course with the Open University (OU) and after starting the course Paul was finding it so interesting and useful he decided to go for a foundation degree in business. After completing he second course in 2012 Paul signed up to complete a degree in leadership and management. Developing his knowledge of management Paul decided he would use his management to make use of his web development skills and started Edworthy Media providing Websites and Marketing to businesses across the UK.
Sam Jollow joined Edworthy Media and they were able to start to scale the businesses.
Paul married his wife Claire (Vennelle) on May 31st 2008 and they have 2 amazing children Ethan born in 2011 and Grace born in 2013. Paul spent the winter months studying whilst running his business. He wanted to ensure during the summer he could spend time in the evenings and at weekends spending time with his family. He achieved his Degree in Leadership and Management with Hons in 2017
In 2017 their websites started to drop down the SEO ranking so when reflecting they found it to be due to the speed of the third party servers they were using.
After doing some research Sam and Paul discovered they would be able to run their own servers powered 100% by renewable energy. The servers were Cloudlinux based so really secure and super fast. They realise the potential of being able o provide this to other web developers/agencies and Paul decided to start a hosting company called Dynamic Servers Limited.
Every client they moved across to the new servers had the benefit of a smoother website but we they were also able to more than half the load time of their website.
Dominic joined Edworthy Computing Limited in 2017 which freed up more of Pauls time to develop the other business by allowing him to join networking groups and attend networking meetings.
Chantelle joined us for a short period in 2021 to deal with our ever growing social media demands but decided she was looking to go into a career in printing so left after a few months.
Lydia then joined us in 2022 who had a background in design along with social media management.
Running the businesses as separate organisations became awkward so in 2022 Paul decided to close Edworthy Media and to merge the clients with Edworthy Computing Limited (1 set of accounts) so thy rebranded Edworthy Computing Limited to Edworthy Media and Technology Limited.
Our team has grown even more recently with the additional of our social media creator Immie who joined us in 2023 as well as Louise who has joined us in March 2025.
