Scam email checklist

Scammers are moving fast, and most people don’t realise they’ve been targeted until the damage is done. A rushed message, an unexpected payment request, a website that “just doesn’t feel right”, it only takes a moment of distraction for something to slip through.
But here’s the good news: a little awareness goes a long way. If someone pressures you, asks for unusual payment methods, avoids answering direct questions or suddenly stops responding, trust your instincts. And if an email or message feels even slightly off, pause before you click.
If you ever think you’ve shared information or made a payment you’re unsure about, contact your bank straight away and change any passwords involved. You’re not alone, this could happen to anyone.
